We must beware lest we violate the holy,
Lest our dogmas over think the mystery,
Lest our psalms sing it away.
The right of interpretation
is given only to the one who covers his face,
“afraid to look at God,”
to the one who, when the vision is forced upon him, says:
“I am undone….
for mine eyes have seen the King.”
We can only drink the flow of thoughts
out of the rock of their words.
